Creating an image gallery of the artists
in Srilanka is the objective of this documentary video. The main reason of
creating this gallery about Srilankan artists is that although society enjoys
the work of these artists, they don’t have a way to know the real person behind
the celebrity figure, how they achieved their goals in life and their personal
details. Another fact is with the latest technologies and trends, the younger
generation of srilanka doesn’t know much about musicians in past decades and
what they did for our country. Therefore, in this whole journey you can learn
about your favorite musicians and enjoy the most famous masterpieces of them.
Through this project I learnt that
the information of Sri Lankan artists is minimal when comparing with other
things you can find in internet or other media. Especially about artist of past
decades, like “Somathilaka Jayamaha”, “Amarasiri pieris” who are legends in our
Sri Lankan musical industry. This project can consider as a tribute to those
artists who brought the trend of Sri Lankan music to a new level and helped to
reach global music industry with their effort.
Objectives:
- To give a sound knowledge of greatest artists in srilanka.
- To promote some of their popular works though the video
- To give the feeling of walking though a gallery while seeing your favorite artist. (By making it as a virtual gallery)
